You know how
Some things just
Bug you?
Walking through the office
Someone stops me.
"Oh! Tara!
I have a question for you."
The truth is
They had a question.
Not specifically for me,
Just a question.
But they SAW me,
And decided to use
My brain
Instead of their own.
I have a new pet peeve
Actually, it's the same one
Just modified for the
Electronic Age
Browsing through images
Reading people's comments
The artist says,
"This is a picture of
Such-and-such."
Or perhaps
They use a big word
Someone doesn't know
The comment says,
"Where is this?"
"What does that word mean?"
Now there's nothing wrong
With not knowing
But I wonder ...
By virtue of the fact
That the commenter
Has commented,
I know two things:
One:
They know how to
Read, write,
And use a keyboard
Two:
They have access
To the Internet
The most powerful tool
In the entire world
For gathering knowledge
Is at your fingertips
Right this very minute
Look
It
Up!

That does, however imply that they will use their brain to do it that way, they'd rather not expend the energy with such a simple task as doing it themselves. I was going to go on a rant about spelling but decided against it. Great commentary, by the way!

hahahh beachzz have miss typeo just like me or she did it to show another pet peeve of some people. lol anyway this is wonderful done and I try not to use other people brain for a lot of time is wrong imformation
And when they ask those questions, in the comments, are they really expecting you to answer them?????? aarrggggggg............... I could create a list as well...
Very well stated, Tara. I've noticed at times that the person posting tells about the picture and then someone asks a question that makes it obvious they didn't read what was written. One of my pet peeves...people that chew ice - just drives me nuts.

Beautifully put! "You can't blame me for taking the easy way out..." was a comment I had from a brain leach the other day. Actually, I can.
Well written Tara, I have a list that would use up all the avaliable characters here :)...For instance, where you mention "Where is it?"...what the hell does that matter, we are an art community, and post images for their artistic merit, where the "Park" or "Building" actually is isn't important!...good Rant :)
... have you tried putting down newspapers by the back door my neighbor says that they work great for her pets but, I don't know... b.

(I was gonna say 'what does peeve mean' but that would be a poor joke...) Well expressed & well written & versified too. (Nice grouping into thoughts, a nice flow.) Very nicely written, and I like the pink visual too—I like the shading & the paper texture as well as the font.
