Description
I got in the mood for what we call in the U.S. "English muffins." So I pulled out my handy, dandy sour dough (which was a hops-based starter we created right here in Lovington, N.M., almost five years ago) and got to it.
We ended up with two dozen awesome English muffins, and they were too good. Whole wheat flour and sour dough made for a great -- if not labor-intensive -- combination.
The plate of those muffins that were left, after we devoured the last ones off the griddle, looked so good, I had to take my wife's Pentax that I got her for Christmas and get a photo for posterity. :)
I don't do them often, because they kind of require a day with a clear schedule so I can keep an eye on them in their three rising times. However, it is well worth it.
I don't know very many people who make these from scratch, so I thought you guys in the Renderosity photo crew might enjoy seeing them. MMM. Can't wait until breakfast...

I've never tried to make them from scratch. But they sure look wonderful, pass the honey.... please
its one of my fav eating in the morning with coffee..:):)
They look wonderful! I have made all kinds of breads from scratch, but never English Muffins. I think they must be so wonderful with melt-in-the-mouth goodness. I love wheat, and sour dough, and that must be extra-ordinary together. I want! lol!
Those look mighty tasty! I'd love one with butter and jam, if you don't mind. The cropped thumbnail version of this shot is even better than the full view!
MMMM!! So ~Tasty~ FABULOUS!!!
