Wanted to show you how several hundred Canadian geese gathered about the ever decreasing water hole in the middle of a freezing lake here in Kansas.
As I looked at cropping the picture, I discovered something I've never seen before. There are five coyotes (look like medium size, slender dogs) observing the geese from among the trees...they are all sitting and are evenly spaced. Do you see all five of them?
Quite a sight and there is a second hole in the ice off to the left of this scene with more geese...some swimming, many sleeping and this was at noon time. There were more geese coming all the time...note the approaching flight in the sky. There are even 5-6 white ducks in the right foreground of all the geese.
This is bird watching at its best...at least quantity-wise :-)
Bill
P.S. Have left this a big as possible for you to zoom in on and scroll through. [Should have tried a pano.]
P.S.S. Came to find out 70% of coyotes live in groups of 3-7 and have a small range of only a couple of square miles. So, these five stick together and live locally.

Great shot Bill. The coyotes are looking for dinner and most likely will have goose! They are very cunning and are great survivors!
