ACCOUNTING
People think
Accounting is difficult.
All those numbers.
Actually,
Accounting is approximately
Sixty-two percent easier
Than writing.
There are twenty-six letters
And only ten numbers ...
How hard could it be?
It's not about math.
They let me have a calculator
With a nice big
Pretty bright blue readout
Which is a really good thing,
Since without one
I have to count on my fingers.
I have my own office,
And the biggest desk
In the entire world,
Because sometimes
I have to spread out
Lots and lots of ledgers
And binders
And pencils.
It all looks very impressive.
Writing payroll
Is the best part.
It's the same ten numbers,
But when I'm done,
Everybody in the whole company
Gets a check.
Every other Thursday
Everybody loves me
More than anybody else!
:)

Hi Tara May Accounting cost is a challenge as is the overhead but the payroll I like it too wonderful work brought a smile and a memory sweet smile to you warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
LOL, this is great, but if there are only 10 numbers, how come my checkbook is always so screwed up????
Every other Thursday I get a paycheck, and if you're the one who does it, I thank you!!!! Didn't you get lots of snow today??? we sure did!!!
Sometimes I have to take my check to the bank because it is too little to go by itself.
Very well put Tara. It is easy to see why you like your job. But how about this: What is Two and Two? A business man was interviewing applicants for the position of divisional manager. He devised a test to select the most suitable person for the job. He asked each applicant, "What is two and two?" The first interviewee was a journalist. His answer was "Twenty-two." The second applicant was an engineer. He pulled out a slide rule and showed the answer to be between 3.999 and 4.001. The next person was a lawyer. He stated that in the case of Jenkins v Brown, two and two was proven to be four. The last applicant was an accountant. The business man asked him, "How much is two and two?" The accountant got up from his chair, went over to the door and closed it then came back and sat down. He leaned across the desk and said in a low voice..."How much do you want it to be?" He got the job. Found at http://smbtn.com/smallbusinesshumor/ Tongue in cheek, Bill
Great description. I took three quarters of Accounting at the Community college, did pretty good - I was the first to be allowed to use a computer to do the class.

Only ten numbers, but the pi goes on subdividing forever! Excellent words. However, I suspect your popularity may go a little deeper than those numbers... ?!
