The Moment
Words touched a smile
Sparkled in my eyes
A bit of warmth
Lit the candle
And as it burned
It made me think
Yes, I am alive
To travel the words
That built up inside
Able to breathe deeply
And ride with my soul
On the sliding edge of now
To obsess with past and future
But deny the present moment -
The only real thing in life -
Is to miss the essence of being
