Description
this is about three miles from my house. I was driveing slow like 25 mph. I came up on this and took some photos of it. It made me see the dangers I in. But I keep on going.
It did snow in New Orleans in 2004 but it was really slete[ means ice and not snow that came dow. This here is real snow. Yes it was wet and heavy . Wish I took a shot of it as it hit my windshild.
The truck had to try in two diff places to pull the car out the ditch. The truck was spinning it wheels big time but then he got the car out the ditch.
thanks for lookingt and comments and hope you have nice people helping you out too like this.
I going to show the diff places as I drive down the road that I stop and took photos

Nice capture!
Wow! Great shot jock. You even got a good composition out of it - well done! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I won't be around here for a while.
I have a friend that lives in New Orleans and he sent me a photo with his cell phone to prove it was snowing there LOL... I think you all are experiencing our normal weather, here is is about ten degrees above normal got up to 63 degrees today, now its back down in the mid 30's .......... dreamin of a white Christmas
GREAT job and great thanks for the conductor and his car to be no long time out of order !! Are you very in security with snow tyres and your truck ??? EXCELLENT idea by sooting before...
That road surface is slick as the reflects of the truck's headlights are shining in it. You see much of that up North here.
A great capture of the hazards of the weather.
No 'may' about it up here; last count had 53 ditchings on local news.
This looks just like my drive today as well. I wish people would slow down!
That is cool. We are going to get ice tonight, so the weather man said...
This is really cool. A fortuitous and momentous capture of life on the highways, Jock! Another example of drivers, inexperienced with snow conditions, thinking the roads are still dry while driving.
Start in second and let it just "walk."
Wow! I never thought you would get snow down there,Jocko!
Great shot, this is like a Jounalistic shot you see in the newspapers, well done Jock!
This looks a lot like what is going on around here.We also have record breaking cold temperatures to go along with it.Be careful and remember to pump your brakes when you skid.
Treacherous road. Yes, it is very dangerous when driving in it. One has no control.
what a mess! great shot!
Stay safe, my friend! Snow isn't too bad ... it's the ice that forms when the snow melts a little and the road freezes. This is a great shot! Exactly what happens when people are a little careless. You have to be aware all the time!
Being from canada and as most here know I've lived in California now since 1965 I do know the dangers of snow sleek and rain on top of it so yes as one comment here said be careful, you could very well get into an accendent when your not use to it ,our calif.drivers right now up north are having accidents all over the place as we have snow everywhere up that way, lake tahoo big bear ,down to 3,000 ft lots of it and here a big rain storm going on with lower temps where we may get a small snow fall, but yes a great capture indeed, you may be able to turn some of these photos into a news station lol::stay safe!
It looks like in Quebec when we have a snow storm! Great capture :)
-31f with 25 mph wind here.
None on the roads..but I saw snow on the foothills of the Bay Area today..
New Orleans eh now thats strange Jocko, what next on the climate change calender eh,great shot
Awesome capture, were supposed to get some of that here in Oklahoma tonight and tomorrow, stay safe Jocko!!!!!
Ooppppssss! Somebody ganna be late from work. Excelent on the spot news picture what happening on the road. Carefull my friend don't get into the same situation.
Watchout for that black-ice, it will get you every time ! Great action capture, but a real shame for the owner of the car ! Well done & ~Cheers~
Great shot, Jocko! WE're suppose to be getting up to 6 inches Wednesday and even more on Sunday! Yeah! An my primary means of transportation is a bicycle!
Our snow line is coming down to 700 feet tonight. I wanted to drive up to the edge and let my grandson see snow falling but I remembered that I don't get home from work until it's dark and I don't think my little light-weight car would do well after dark, in the snow, with me behind the wheel. LOL Good investigative photo work.
Yep, that's the way it happens, I am SO glad we rarely get snow here!!
great reportage !
