Description
Conglomerate sedimentary rock.
We are looking at a portion of Long Island, New York. The island was formed at the end of the last ice age. It is composed of rock, sand, and sediment of all sorts pushed ahead of the leading edge of a giant ice sheet.

Aye, most of Long Island is formed by the scrapings of New England pushed south by the ice sheets. Nice pic to have the foreground boulder with limonite stain leading the arc to the point with people.

I've read a lot about Long Island and even had a friend in college from Long Island but this is the first time I have seen it. I even made a model of the Long Island Memorial Parkway and rendered it with a car model I made. I think the portion I depicted was just before you got to the actual Long Island.
