Description
Tara and I took many fotos at her brother's house yesterday and of course we took shots of the same things. Here's the same chandelier** she posted last night. I love how we see the same things, but always with a bit of a twist!!

Fabulous capture Marilyn!
its chandelier day.................. ;)
Awesome Shot!!
This is an interesting image because it has electric lights and candles. The chandelier is very elaborately decorated and the candles are simple tapers in modest candle holders.
Let there be light...:)..nice to compare styles...
I love it when you all show shots from same place...fasinates me....I've never been on a photo shoot with a fellow photog before....really itchin' to do it.
Very nicely caught!!!
Wonderful image Marilyn... I'm gonna put my foot in it now... I liked the clarity of Tara's chandelier better but I like your POV and compo better... :)
Very nice and neat on your part. 5+.
International chandelier day today! Super pic!
Nice to see it from tother side, I like this shot Maz, well done, I supose Tara and yourself were like Siamese twins with a camera LOL!
Interesting to see a same object captured by a different artist. Equaly great and you capture a wonderful war color too.
A different view but equally as stunning.
I didn't see Tara's contribution but I do like the POV, DOF, stark color and contrast lighting effects in this image, M.
Very interesting composition. Very well done.
OK, now I'm torn. Tara's shot is a bit more colorful and warmer, yours is more subdued (is that really you?), both show a beautiful light fixture....I can't choose. Do I have to?
Nobody will ever believe we weren't in there at the same time, doing this on purpose! LOL! Setting your laptop up next to my computer and comparing shots was the most fun I had all day! :) It was amazing to see how many things we'd both shot. I like this ... ummmm ... dining room, right?
Tara's piece is reds w/ deep ambers, a "rembrandt" kind of warmth. Yours is reds with bright whites, a commanding presence. Both capture the jewel-like feeling, and both capture the deep golds & earth tones of the room. (At least as they appear in the photos.) The shimmer of the window & lights in your shot makes it appear almost apocalyptic. (You may know it, but 'chandelier' comes from the word for 'candle' and originally meant 'white' & 'light', so apocalyptic is fitting. Tons of candles in one holder should be sumptuous.) A bejeweled shot, and I like the surroundings & esp. the blueish wall on the right: It almost seems granulated by the glare. (Nice homage on the wall's part!) Lovely & glittering piece.
Beautyful and cosy
I
ve just come from having a look at Taras and its amazing how both shots of the same thing are so different .Excellent capture Marilyn :o MickThere is a dark, angular expanse in the upper left quadrant of this picture, and it surprises me in a good way. The whole picture is fantastic, well seen and presented and the colors are superb, but that shadowed area gives this the feel of something Rembrandt would have done...I think it's the darkness and the color, they play off of each other wonderfully! Great work!
