Description
I captured this tortoise on Sunday when I went for a walk at The Woodlands at my office! We had such a laugh at this fellow. He was clearly on a mission... If a tortoise can run... this one definitely did the 100m in record time. He was oblivious of Bruce and I photographing him and just remained focused on his goal - whatever that was... *smile*
Wishing all my US friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for clicking in and for your valued comments and favs on my 'sky' upload of last night.

marvelous photo!!!!!!!!
Splendid capture! :)
Tara and I are off to her brother's for dinner; it's so great to be here; but wow, yesterday's 12 hour drive--I felt like we moving about as fast as your tortoise!!
Very cool pic. Funny thing, I had to stop my car yesterday to move a turtle that was trying to get across to where the lake was. I picked him up and moved him to the bushes by the lake. Of course he had to go the rest of the way on his own. At least he was out of harms way. Great photo.
Splendid composition and colors my friend
hes awesome ..wonderful capture Carin !
Thats an Old one more then 75 years old for sure Thanks for sharing (I love turtle)
LOL they are a funny creature when they try to hurry, Oh well, we humans should take a leaf out of their book and chill a little, slow down and take in the world around us instead of rushing and chasing everywhere:)...Nice capture my friend!
Beautiful capture Carin!
He's a cute old fella ! Nice portrait !
Love the detail of the shell here. What a beautiful shot, Carin!
Superb capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great capture, Carin! They usually don't leave their own area, but sometimes they just get lost... I saw many turtles crossing roads, even freeways! Well, I'm not sure if they really crossed the "finish line" before getting in contact with some vehicles, but for sure I didn't hit any!
Very nice shot and post work! Well done.
Awesome Image!!
A superb capture, well shot and I love the presentation
Wonderful photo.
Very nice capture!
Oh, it is so huggable! I love this profile shot. The colors in the shell are well brought out. I'd tell you if it was male or female but I can't see the tail or claws.
what a great photo; Love the vignetting and u even captured that light in his eye. :) excellent shot carin.
Beautiful patterns and colors! Nice work!
They can move relatively quickly when they want to.Great shot.

Excellent capture Carin.
Wonderful capture! I love the markings on his shell.
Hey! What a great guy! Surely very old, but always fun to capture them...
I kept 12 tortoises for 40 years in my garden and boy can they get a clip on when sex or food is ohn the agenda! They have gone to live out in the country with a tortoise fanatic friend and had lots of babies!
lovely postwork and pov, look at him go! =D
All this mystery...I can see the answer in hes/her eyes...he's late returning a book to the library and doesn't want to be charged another day's late fee :-) Nice capture...he looks big. Bill
