almost a modern Japanese print. It's really amazing how you combine photographic images with painterly & print-like expression. I agree with Koosie this has a zen-like feel. (And with Tara, that I love this side of you!) Simple gestures: The 3 general planes (rust red on bottom, brownish red above, and black above that—which spills down the whole work) show your sense of simplicity once more, and the way you contrast shape with shape, texture with texture, etc. As for the "zen" part, the sphere & contrasting branches deserve the title (simplest means to the deepest states); but it's also very much you. The branches could pass as a poetic interpretation of Oriental calligraphy too. Simple & beautiful, the title is quite evocative; and for me it's a definite fav.
