Description

This is one of the birds local to where I live. It is one of the smaller members of the kingfisher family. Kookaburra's are the largest members I think. These guys aren't exactly common but they aren't rare either. Getting close enough to get a picture is a rare treat though. This was hand held from a boat using a 400mm zoom at less than half the sensible shutter speed so I am pretty pleased it even turned out.
