Description
This is a bench not too far from where I live that is always available for that time when you want a quiet place with a lovely view.
The view is from a bluff on the west bank (the Kansas side) of the Missouri River. During the period 1888 to 1958, one of the first railroad bridges across the Missouri River stood here. It has since been replaced by bridges to the north and south at many locations.
When you need a place to relax, the bench is all yours.

Bill, get the flask of coffee ready and a biscuit won't go amiss, I am on my way! What a stunning place to sit, I could contemplate life for hours whilst in this beautiful place
Beautiful shot.
I wish I could! exiting place to relax! (with a book?) or just watch this wonderful surroundings! RS
All I can say Bill is that if I lived nearby you wouldn't get a look-in, i'd happily spend all day sitting here relaxing with good book just taking in the view and fresh country air. Beautiful image mate.
No! No! Emil.... I'm there first. And I'm with Bessie too. Kettle one. Get the biscuits in. We are all on our way! See ya soon! Rob.
Wonderful vista and it indeed looks peaceful and the right place to get your ducks in a row again! Lovely compo Bill! :)
Such beauty in this place, Bill. I could sit here all day. Wonderful capture. Hugs. Di. xx
Beautiful landscape...love the way you captured the light in it.
Hey thanx Bill, looks like a beautiful spot to ponder the meaning of.....You're very lucky to such a beautiful place so close to home. An excellent crisp capture with nice light too!
Sometimes I don't want a quiet place. It allows an odd sado-masochistic view of fairness to try to excuse itself. A new boss once said," I once had a bad boss now I intend to be the worst boss you ever had." He saw that as a sort of uniform fairness.
Wonderful capture!! :)
What a great spot with the bend in the river! I love to imagine places like this as first seen by frontier folks so many years ago.
Looks like a nice place to just sit and think! Excellent capture and composition!!!
Oh what a wonderful place to sit and relax. Beautiful view you have.
Beautiful!!
Nice photo, Bill, especially at this time of year.
Gorgeous view, Bill! I am embarrassed to say that most of what I knew about Kansas came from "The Wizard of Oz" :) You are doing a fabulous job of educating us to the beauty of your home state. BTW - are there any fish in that river???
Lovely place for a quiet few moments--great capture!
