Description
Soft and gentle as the morning rain
I see you sitting on the edge of the bed
Looking into the vanity
Pulling the rollers
From your hair
You are more beautiful
Than the heavens above
I try not to breath wrong
I don't want to disturb you
And have you stop
For even a second
You have the skin from your youth
The glow of our children
In your eyes
And alabaster hands
That guide a brush
Through the fine red lace
Of your hair
You were born with the face of an angel
But your real beauty
Is in the softness
Of your compassion
The gentleness of your touch
You are a butterfly
That has landed on my heart
And changed me forever
I am weak
In the glow of your tenderness
And draw strength
In my desire to take care of you
I will lay here
As still and quiet as I can
Until the end of time
And watch the morning dance
Of my butterfly
As always if your real beauty is in the softness of your compassion and the gentleness of your touch then this poem is for you
