Description
Please give this a zoom-in.
Lots of titles came to mind with this one: Daylight to Dusk, Streaking Home, Eastbound at Dusk, Sky Blue, ...so, I took the simplest one word alternative.
I had been out for two hours looking for something different to photograph. I shot several dozen so-so pictures, pulled into my driveway and looked up. Here's what I saw...and it was different. Only obvious help was to increase the saturation accentuating the blue.
Hope you like it. And thanks a lot for all your comments on my birds from the zoo as well as my favorite Corsair.
Bill
P.S. Just to orient you, the plane is flying from west to east...in late afternoon.

I only wish it was an SST. I guess I won't get to see that one. (I settled for the shuttle.)
Contrails always make for great shots..like the contrasting branches....
Beautiful. Doing your best to make me homesick are ya? Skipper62
Really cool compo! Nice work! Thank you for your input on my previous posts. Peace T
This is one of those 'in the moment' photo's that you capture so well Bill. A must full size :)
A really neat shot and composition.
Very well done. I love it. And yes, I give it a 5+.
Nice capture of the contrail, Bill. Is the vague shadow to the right the contrail shadow on underlying cirrus?
How about, "Off we go into the wild blue yonder?" Vapor trails to the max in this beauty, Bill! Stellar contrast against the blue of the sky, and the branches give the shot depth.
Compo is brilliant on this one.
I love the POV and the composition. Very well done indeed, Clive
good shot, very well composed!
Really great shot Bill. Must have been shifting or very cold up there for the contrail to hang together for so long.Excellent contrast with the branches, like this one a lot. Thanks mate.
An fabulous photo, my friend. Looks really cold though! Brilliantly crisp, clear day. Great. Rob.
Great compo!
So, the plane is coming back to Detroit! Excellent shot!
really like the contrast between the planes' vapour trail and the leafless branches
reminds us of your avatar but than much higher in the sky
"Stuff the dream are made of" P
a great capturing thank you
Frame was clever thought, i really have the impression to watch out of a window. Calm and serenity of the naked branch is hard battling with celerity and out of time flying engine. Cool !
Nice composition!
Very interesting photo!
Nothing like a winter sky to catch contrails. Great photo.
such a familiar sight but so wonderfully captured and clipped. the branches do the truck. love the color of the sky.
a very cool compo, Bill, so simple and yet striking...smile
