Description
It's been a while since I did one of these. I love changing a photograph until it becomes something totally different that where it started.
This was a perfectly nice image of brilliant, hot pink and red roses. (Marilyn was aghast at what I'd done. STRIPPED AWAY the color????)
Maybe I'll post the original later on. It was lovely straight out of the camera. Sometimes I just gotta play!

w o n d e r f u l !!!! Beautiful roses and great photo!
Gorgeous image; the composition stands out with the color desaturated like this. Excellent playing!
LMAO--and I thought you'd done just the opposite--but well, this IS beautiful; just might try it one of these days!!
Thats why PS has so many bells and whistles to experiment with filters and colour correction is half the fun, well I think so. Excellent work Tara, I think I would prefer more colour myself but then it would not be Old Fashioned but something entirely different. Hats of to you my dear for doing it your way. Bravo!!!!!
Sometimes we just gotta tear up the rule book to champion the cause of postworking, it's just like critique, one person will say "I would have used a flash to brighten the shadows", where another would say "Nice study of light and shadow" LOL!, keep playing sweetie you did a great job on this :)
Very exciting! I'd have to print it off now and start doodling with some real pens and stuff, that's how old fashioned I am!
Perfect. 5+.
I love this Tara... and yeah... I can imagine that Marilyn almost had heart failure... Hehehe... :)
super work
Beautiful!
Very nice capture!! :)
Beautiful...
It is really gorgeus and I think it is such fun to play with a photo. The result here is very lovely.
I really do like the colour desaturation in this Tara, it creates a dreamy and distant feel to the image. Very lovely work!!
play is fun new things and ideas come around and laugh maybe even blush wonderful capture, Tara May warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
Whatever you did, the results are very nice. Well done.
wonderful done
I really like the way the edges of the roses turned out.
They look soooooo lovely...the desaturation does make them look old timey
I love how these look all the same. A beautiful capture, and it is great to play with the photos eh!
Beautiful rose and fantastic photo.
Great work..but think I still am more of a purist...bring on the original...:)
Fantastic work...it reminds me of the sort of faded pink you'd get in really old wallpaper, usually from the bedroom of a woman born in oh, say...1919. I love the desaturation and the aged look that this has. In some ways it makes me think of something from the Victorian era. I love it. The other thing, the colors, the textures, the whole thing makes me think that this would smell like softly scented powder rather than a flower...OR like the petals of a rose, pressed in between the pages of an exceptionally old book. I love that subjective effect.
Awesome Shot!!
I like the antique look you got with the postwork. I can hear Marilyn! LOL The postwork added a lot of depth as well.
Absolutly stunning. Old rose is the color calld here. Beautyful, Tara
Here I am working backwards. I know the happy ending to this story...but also like your style here. Well done. Bill
I like that old faded look...something different is always good once in awhile :o)
I think Ronnie sums it up Tara, we all have our thoughts on what works and nothing wrong with bending a rule or two. Bravo!
fantastic treatment on the roses ..gorgeous ! it looks very Victorian
