Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
This may be the cutest Fly I have ever seen, lol. It is a member of the Tachinidae Family, which is the 2nd largest Family of Flies. There are over 1345 species in North America.
For those interested, I will not be posting every day for a while. The weather has turned nice enough for me to resume work on my house and I have been asked to present some photographs for an upcoming open house of some sort, so I will be busy getting those ready. I also have an exhibition of images on display now and for the next 2 months as well. WOOHOO.

You have had quite a break from house building Lee, so don't overdo it, take it steady. I look forward to hearing about the new commision, that is if you feel like telling of course. Keep us informed of the exhibition as well, I know a couple of them have gone, I'm pretty sure a few more will go as well. The very best of luck with both projects. Superb macro here, I have never seen a 'cute fly' before, the head on this reminds me somewhat of Tweety Pie, the big eyes and little beak sticking out. Excellent detail even though the focus is a little soft, it has a dream like quality. Bravo!!!!!

I thought I was one of the few that liked flies, guess not!! ;-) It is cute. Very cool shot too. Good detail. I actually love the diversity in the fly family. So many varieties of sizes and shapes and looks. And for the most part, they are one of the more patient; less skittish insects. Good job man!

Great work! It's good to see someone who like insects as much as I do...unfortunately, I don't have much of an insect-showing in my gallery, but who knows, maybe that'll change at some point. But enough of that. I have to say that this is a perfectly presented, perfectly captured picture. The sense of color and detail is stunning. Great work, as always.
