Description
Dedicated to my dear friend, NekhbetSun, who once dedicated a lovely image to me. Thank you for your support along with your endless talent, Mina. I had wanted to do something for Halloween since we both love the holiday, but time slipped away from me.
Tools used: Daz, Painter, Gimp, and Bryce. Free bird brushes by Obsidian Dawn.
I created my first velvet shader for Daz from scratch using a tutorial I read online.
The character I used is based on the wonderful Manhattan by danae found here at Renderosity.
Again, this looks bright in my Mac's monitor, but I'm not sure how it translates in Windows. If it looks muddy let me know.
I appreciate all of your support, friendship, and constructive criticism, as well as those of you who are just looking at my work. I keep trying! : )
UPDATE: Thanks to a friend, this has been brightened for other monitors. I guess I need to calibrate my new Mac's screen. Thanks, friend! : )

Beautiful work Cathy, you done an excellent job here and a super dedication for Mina. Very well done!
Impressive work quality, but I now that Daz Studio gives a stunning quality of light. This is a wonderful composition with great elements. A total success!
Beautifully detailed image. The velvet looks great!
This is a very intricate and beautiful scene. You have obviously intigrated programs and content well. Appreciate your dedication.
a very nice magical scene you have here, well done.
Fantastic !!!
Fabulous composition image, wonderful work...
what a complex image...you pay homage to Mina with your beautiful complexity and the way the little revelations keep popping up, just as she does in her work...The little blue flowers (left) are wonderful against the darker tones around it; you even have blue touches in the trees above (very nice); the house is truly enchanting & fairy-tale-like; those blazing orange leaves are wonderful & you continue the orange in the sky to the right (love that choice); and the piece keeps going as we look down, until we find that orange in the fire below: It feels like an extra gift you gave us. And the woman holds her urn as if it contains real powers all from nature. Shamanistic & organic, a very enchanting vision, a perfect gift for Mina, and a very generous piece from you...generous in that you didn't stop where many artists would, you gave a lot of everything...Beautiful work.
