"Who are you?"
Focused on the journey he was certain would bring all things building to a head here; Lord Wolfe sighed in patience, 'Here she comes again.' he thought, 5 minutes later, a knock at his door.
"Come in." He muttered loud enough for her to hear. Dru stepped in, "You didn't ask who it was first, I could have been anyone." She chided gently. "No need, I could smell you coming, that perfume you wear, reeks." She gasped mildly insulted, "Well thank you sir, and here I bring you something delicious to eat to get insulted!"
"Come in and close the door." He grumbled.
"Oh, so you're finally inviting me in, usually you tell me to get lost!" She closed the door and set the bag on his desk beside him, "So what you doin'?"
"None of your business."
"You don't have to be rude, you did invite me in, that means you have to talk to me." His answer was a grunt. "That man whose always around, he's out there, with the white dog."
"Wolf." He corrected her.
"So, you know him and the wolf?"
"Em." He grunted.
"He's a marshal, I saw his badge."
"Em."
"Why is he always where you are? Who are you anyway, what's with all the guns? You running from the law?"
"No."
"No." She repeated, getting a bit exasperated at his lack of participation. Changing tactics, she asked, "You gonna look and see what I brought you to eat?"
"No."
"Aren't you hungry?"
"No."
"No... just no?"
"I don't like Chinese."
She laughed out loud, "You live in China town, in the words of Suzi Wong, For goodness sake! Who's gonna eat this food?"
"You eat it."
"Fine, I'll eat it. Tell me something," She began, removing containers looking for chop sticks, "How old are you? You don't change much, you look as you did when I was 6, you been around a long time, you disappear a while, you come back. Sometimes you go for weeks, months, even years. But you've always come back."
"Em." He grunted not bothering to answer her.
"Aye, no where for me to sit." She observed.
"The floor."
She gasped, mouth open, looked down, shrugged and plopped down at his feet. Opening a container, she began to eat. He looked down at her, and cracked his first smile, "How old are you?"
"19, in college - live down the block all my life, been watching you too."
"Em, so you have."
"Come on, who are you? As much abuse as I've taken from you over the years, you owe me that."
"You shouldn't be here, it's not safe."
"Why?"
"I'm waiting for someone, he's dangerous."
"He could sneak up on you while you're at that computer, you're not worried, I'm not."
"He's no where near."
"How you know?"
"I can smell him, sense he's near."
"Wow, you can smell people?"
He leaned back, lifted his whiskey, taking a sip, for once, enjoying her company, "Yeah, I can."
"Come on, you can trust me, tell me what's going on? I have an assignement to write about the most mysterious person I know, I've chosen you. Help me get an A."
He thought about it, the hour was near, 'What the hell.' After this night, there was no telling if he would still be alive, maybe it was time to share his tale.
"It's a long story." he suprised her, "One that may shock you." She searched her coat pockets, not to waste a moment and pulled out a small recorder. "You mind?"
"No."
She pressed the record button, and placed it before him and sat back down. With her food, she gave him her attention. "Okay, ready."
"My story goes back, way back, back to ... Africa."
"Africa?"
"Yes, Africa. You see... my mother, was captured there and brought here, years and years ago."
"How many years ago?"
"A little over ... 200 years ago." He confessed, watching her expression.
"No way! Oh my God..."
Yes, to be continued - "Wink"
No room for credits this time...

As I began reading the last paragraph, I felt a smile coming to my face. There she goes I thought, about to lay that suspense thing on us. And sure enough, the cliffhanger came. 'Oh My God' indeed...........Well for certain I am hooked, line and sinker. The illustration is excellent. Now, really getting to see his eyes, sort of explains 200 years. The girl is marvelous, the entire scene terrific. Amazing work Sis! Soon please, soon for the next part. Have to know about thoses 200 years and 'what' is the handsome devil. On the edge of my chair. LOL!

Wow, this is quite impressive! Excellent DoF and realistic lighting! Only thing that retracts from the image as a whole is the take-out bag, it needs some dimension. As I said before, the rest of the image is fantastic! I would say, one of your best yet -_^
