Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
Here is a little Butterfly that is about the size of my thumbnail. I am sure it is a Hairstreak and I think it is a Grey Hairstreak.
The Hairstreaks have little "tails" that extend from the back of their wings and as they feed, they rub their wings back and forth.
I often wonder how they manage to do this so much and not rub bare spots on them, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

I got a California hairstreak and was thrilled to do it. It never stopped moving and the little "hairs" vibrated so much. I couldn't bring myself to post it though. It just didn't have this awesome clarity.
what an interesting coloring of this tiny one... a very fine macro!
Great shot :)
what a nice butterfly! Wonderful photo!
Great macro! my first look at the thumb and I found it hard to see which way this little guy was facing, those markings are deceiving!
Great butterfly macro again. Well done, Lee.
I love this 'circular' compostion! Marvellous detail of course and very interesting information.
Very good!
Wonderful capture and detailed macro, Excellent well done..
Folks do have a glance type appreciation for an image and a deeper understanding once they know the difficulty factor no matter the subject. Multiplied by small size and the quickness of their mobility, the best we can do is try. I have several attempted shots at these small fliers, you have managed a super capture here. Well done Lee
Wonderful DOF to this one Lee, love the crop!
