A Change In My Mind
Not so long ago
Things would have
Made me crazy
Sent me running
For the hills
The littlest slight
Or the biggest hurt
Would stop me
In my tracks
Knock me flat
Words, actions
Thoughts, they
Would all cut me
To the quick
Make me bleed
Something happened
Those same words
Actions, thoughts
Don't hurt me now
Or at least not as much
I'm not going to
Question this
Ask why or how
It changed
I'm just going to embrace it
It's a quantum leap
Into a better world
A better place
And I thank
The angels
Who helped me
Find this peace

How true, things can sometimes get our feelings hurt or create for us a miserable day. But, they pass and we become stronger for having survived. Seems like you came out on top and the winner.

"The littlest slight, or the biggest hurt would stop me in my tracks, knock me flat..." I don't know, I'm glad you found peace. The same may not knock me flat, but they sure do piss me off, and lusting for revenge. Revenge is sweet.
We all are getting old and wise! I would love my angel to teach me the quantum leap! And then I will leap straight back in time to when words, actions, thoughts, would cut at me too quickly and make me bleed!

Serenity is one of the best things that life offers and the best part of it is it always comes after a subtle shift. What I love about it is the fact that you can look back and see where you were and where you are now...and your words have captured that so perfectly! Great stuff here!
