Description
'Modern life is rubbish', thought the Sorceress, besieged by everybody and every 'nobody' of the Royal Court. They pleaded with her to save them - but simultaneously chastised her for letting the world slip into decay. After all, they reasoned that they had abolished religion and its practitioners in her favour.... surely she could do better than this to keep the forces of evil at bay? But to her mind, they had brought all these evils upon themselves - through greed and poor planning. There was even talk that the banks were beginning to stumble... a panic far more fearful to some than merely flood, plague or pestilence... now things would really have to change. Yes, this was one weird halloween!
Bemused... she had tried every trick in the book. Now she would have to try the one that isn't in any of the books... you can only try this one once - but the real trick is you can try it ALL the time and forever... Now if only they would all shut up a minute and let her concentrate on the spell...
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: Hold on!"

I'd like to dedicate this to everyone here at Renderosity at these dark times. In particular though, I would like to dedicate it to 'novelist'. An artist and friend here who has helped me so much in the past few months and without her support I would have never held on... thank you Cathy.

S P L E N D I D WORK !!!!!!!!
Fantastic done, like an old oil-painting! Excellent work!!!
Wow! Absolutely amazing. On first glance it looks like a medieval master piece of one of the great artists of that time while it is all about 2008 and a master piece by a great digital artist of our time. Fabulous work in every detail!
Wow!! Amazing!!
Wowwwww...fantastic!

Wow , stunning work , it's amazing , every bit and every detail is so masterfully done . Love it!
it looks like one of those old paintings, where it is a lot happening, and very intrincated (hope is expell like that,not sure do) but ,it's an amazing job,about the poem is as the picture complicated for my small mind
What an amazing render..did you make the beautiful books? I've been looking for some, as well as that spell;-)
It's easy to see why this is such a favorite. Amazing arwork, I love all the little details including the rats. Nice work for sure!
OUTSTANDING !
The detail as always spot on Pete, I don't know how you manage to cram so much into the picture and yet it is not over crowded, I will peruse it after the comment as there is too much to take in at a glance. The words of Kipling just fit it to a 'T'. Outstanding work. Bravo!!!!!!

What a superbe creation,excellently done*********
Absolutely marvelous work! Love the rats in the midst of chanting and medieval "cures" for the plague. Most beautifully composed and detailed.
Massively incredible. The groupings and posings of the figures around the table remind me of The Last Supper. You are truly the master of detail.
What could I add ? Words seem weak to me to express my admiration; Everything's perfect. Sorry if I'm a bit trivial but I don't know how you can reach this level with a PC and Daz studio...I understand you had bad days...I hope it's over and wish you better days.
I don't know what to say about this that hasn't already been said in all the comments...This is incredible!!! One of the most detailed and brilliant works I have ever seen!!! You definitely deserve No1 in the Art Chart with this superb work of art!!!
