Description
This view is from Zabriskie Point off highway 190 on the Eastern side of Death Valley. In the foreground is the Amargosa Range and in the distance to the west are the Panamint Mountains. Nestled between these two ranges lies Death Valley.
This picture was taken on 22 September 2008.

I believe this is the first real conception of what Death Valley really means for me. Sure, you read it's inhospitable, you have seen it depicted in movies, but this shot for me, really pulled out the reality of this part of earth...barran, empty and waterless. Thank you!
