ENCYCLOPEDIA GALACTICA Edition 428193 - Earth English
Definition: 'Sphere Of Influence'
A Language English* description for a region of space surrounding the present home world of any spacefaring civilization. Within this region, proximity and technological reach make the presence of members of this civilization most pervasive. A region of popular commerce for said civilization.
Recognition of such regions amongst other civilizations is informal and subject to interpretation. However, within these regions, other more advanced civilizations try not to interfere nor enter through stealth**.
A 'Sphere of Influence' does not include areas studied through singular missions of deep space exploration.
Throughout history, the overlapping of such regions between two different civilizations has been rare and has never lead to serious conflict.

Excellent Work...!!
Hey, I thought the latest edition of Encyclopedia Galactica was 428192...shows what I know. Anyway, this is a great render and a great read. I love the scholarly tone of the text as well as the truly otherworldly nature of the image it accompanies. Great work, and though you're working within the Science Fiction genre here, I love the fact that you're exploiting an under-realized category of the genre...great stuff.
