Description
For those who were wondering where yesterday's old telegraph office was....
it is in the far corner of the red brick building behind the post office sign.
If you zoom in, you can just see the chairs hanging on the stone wall.
Actually, it's part of a several acre Texas history exhibit at the Fort Worth zoo.
I have this in sepia on my site, as some suggested, but wanted to try an hdr treatment ths time.
Thanks so much for your views, faves, and kind comments. It means a lot to me!

What a gorgeous, moody capture. Splendid shot. Bunny
This is a gorgeous capture! Beautifully seen and presented...it evokes quite a lot of emotion as well, especially with me, since I've been immersed in living history for the past couple of years. This picture, like the one before it, is fantastic, and for me, bittersweet in a way. So much of the past has been thrown away, torn down, or built over...but this picture, and it's companion, are great reminders of historical continuity and context. Great work!
Marvelous presentation...I have friend they go at Fort Worth (Military Base) just before going to Afghanistan :) Thanks for the Info
i can see gun slingers walking down the street ready to draw they guns on each other here. wonderful image you took of this
Very well done! Beautiful colors and details!!!
Very cool. 5+.
Excellent image and just love the postwork:)
Wonderful. Looks like a set for a western movie.
Glad to see the entire scene today. I've also visited a similar site on the south side of Dallas. Looking at your full-size view, the only things that reminds me that this is today...are all the hand railings for hanging onto while climbing steps. Love your treatment of the sky. Bill
A magical image! It certainly holds that "historic" mood and atmosphere; as if there is more to the image than meets the eye....... the sky is most beautiful..... I'd love to walk about this little place, that looks so "isolated", yet very cozy, welcoming and warm!
Really lovely image; nicely worked!
Wow~ that's a great shot. I bet that is a wonderful place to visit.
Hopalong Cassidy will be arriving soon. Very nice capture. Aloha
Really outstanding! The "treatment" was successful beyond words. I half expect to see some old-time cowboy step out onto main street at any moment.
EXCELLENT CAPTURE , COLORS & BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
This hdr shot looks great! Wonderful light!
wow, what a shot...really outstanding
Wonderful place and photo.
A love a good HDR. One day I might actually learn how to do these! I've got the trial version of Photomatix...is there anything better or easier to use?
very beautiful scene and photo of this “old” city…
A really old looking town scene. WOW! How awesome.!!! Taken right our of an old western moovie. :)
Excellent!
Beautiful, and your HDR is perfect! It is so often overdone and horrible to behold!
Fantastic reconstruction and wonderful photo Maria.....!!!!!
Fantastic work on this one too Maria, love the tonal range of these pieces.
I have to agree with bmac52, the only thing that looks out of place is the hand rails, which are a there for disabled access I guess, same with the ramp in front of the Post Office. Your HDR treatment worked a treat Maria, a fantastic tonal range, I haven't got to grips with it yet. Superb work, and top marks to the Fort Worth Zoo for it's creation. Bravo!!!!!
well, I know where I am going next week!!!I had no idea that this was there. I am glad you stuck with the color and hdr
awesome shot ..can you imagine living back then :O
