Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
Here is the first of several Grasshoppers to go with the Leaf Hoppers I have been posting this week. I have no idea what the species is.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.
BTW - if you are interested in a digital calendar for your computer screen, I have one for sale through the RR Marketplace. It features 15 images (one for each month from Oct '08 through Dec '09) of various Dragonflies and Damselflies. I hope to have some others available soon that will feature other 'critters.

I did look at your calendar and WOW! That is amazing and I can hardly wait for the others to come out. This is a stunning shot with such wonderful clarity and detail and it shows not only color patterns but also body construction to it's fullest!

This is fantastic...I'm about to look at your calendar too...but before I do that, I have to say that this is a gorgeous, wonderfully clear shot. I have to agree with MrsLubner and say that this image is a wonderful showcase of everything from color patterns to the really cool biomechanical elements of this critter. Great work as always.
amazingly beautiful!
