Description
Carbisdale castle near Lairg North Scotland is packed with art and marble sculptures,you can stay here really cheaply, just join the Scottish Youth hostel association because it belongs to them.
It was the last ever castle built in scotland.,1917. have a google for more history and pics from inside on the SYHA pages.

I suppose someone could still do one. The stonemasons are about restoring things and could be assembled and recruit apprentices for one more go. One needs to sip the sherry a bit more slowly and not proceed to the brandy.

Oh lol! .. I was there last week ;-) My friend and I went for afternoon coffee. It was WONDERFUL! There are huge statues and incredible ceilings and fantastic carved staircases & incredible paintings..combined with awful wallpaper and "dump you laundry here" signs in the middle of it. Nice to see you finally got a photo of it with no darn power lines in the way ;-)
