Description
Caught a glimpse of a great crested grebe sitting on its nest the other day. This is something I don't normally get a chance of a shot at as they are fairly shy when it comes to nesting.
This wasn't an easy angle and I really hadn't expected it to come out as well as it did with my little digital snapshot camera - I could really use an SLR with big lens to fully do this justice.
The focus isn't perfect but I'm unlikely to get another opportunity like this so I thought I'd share it anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to look. Hope you like it. :-)

Great shot catching her on the nest!
Marvellous! well done! I didn't realise they did it this late!
durleybeachbum - the chicks hatched a week or two back. Though it wasn't raining, she looks as if she's sheltering them. But, yes, it is a little late in the season. :-)
Your image is very well done. 5+.
NICE..! ROBY ♥
Great capture, you have to seize the moment!
Fantastic find and capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome shot!
Wonderful, did she know you were there?
Albeit with camera restrictions, you did a great job, and these are extremely shy birds, everytime I have tried to shoot them, they swim away, then I recompose and they dive under the surface lol, can't win :)
