Description
One of the things I miss about living in Seattle is the Pike Place Market. There is nothing that can compare to the sights and sounds and wonderful odors that come the open air market. From the fresh produce to fresh seafood and handcrafts. My very favorite seafood is Dungeness Crab, sadly I can't get that where I live now but in July I got a ride from a friend to a huge store here and found these tiny crabs that have near the same taste so I treated myself to 2 pounds and gorged on them for two days! The size of these crabs is maybe 2-3 inches max across the body. So small its difficult to get the meat out but I persevered:-)Sorry I have forgotten the name of this crab...
Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

I love Pikes we are going to drive up there soon to take my mother in law who has never been. I love crab all types .Dungeness crab is the best for less work but to a crab lover like me the small ones are still worth the fight ;)Cool shot Lynn
Wado! Glad to hear that you've found a substitute! Need to get to that store again.....: )
Too much hard work for me. When I feel like eating I need to catch the moment! But I LOVE crab all the same.
when I was working in Louisiana I was on an expense account and I was eating crab casserole almost everyday.excellent capture
Very nice and yummy capture. It reminds me of the Red Lobster Restaurant
Mmmm! Gimme! LOVE crab, my folks say that i was beamed to mom's stomach but was actually born on the east coast and stuffed full of sea food... lol.... (will try to catch up on all your pics later on...) :)
Great shot, Lynn. Looks yummie... i love seafood... I always used a nut-cracker to get the meat out of the shells. I schocked quite a lot of waiter's through the years... When i pulled up a nut-cracker from my pocket..haha.. But it is very efficient..+5
The name of that crab is YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!...Nice capture Lynn.
Nothing quite like the fresh Dungeness from Pike Place... haven't had them lately, though my sister and her husband have been crabbing quite a lot this summer and passing the largesse on to me. I don't know if they're the same type, but they're huge and they taste great anyway. Great, now I'm hungry, darn you! :)
It seems good to eat... Excellent shot! :)
i love seafood and yet i dont like crab lol :o)..excellent capture lynn mick
Mmmmmm...crab! I love crab, all crab. Though I have to say that Dungeness is one of my least favorite - easier to pick, but not nearly as sweet as blue crab. This looks like stone claw crab, but I'm not sure - never actually saw one before as in this area you're not allowed to fish for them - you're allowed to remove the claws, but have to return the crab to the water so it can re-grow the claws. The claws are great, though! In fact, SNOW crab claw is both easy to pick AND is sweet! :-)
I want to eat...
Wow. delicious image. wonderful composition!!
