Description
This posting compliments my last two postings, "The Budweiser Driver" and "Sharing A Laugh".

I wanted you all to see the size of a Clydesdale hoof. Notice the shoe complete with a rubber shock absorber pad underneath. This makes walking on concrete and asphalt roads much easier on the horses' ankles and legs. These horses weigh on average between 2000 and 2300 pounds and stand six feet tall at the shoulder. Notice the top of the handler's head on the far side of this horse?
This photo was taken as the horses are being loaded back into their trailers for the ride home to Saint Lewis, Missouri about a 350-400 mile trip. The dark patches on this horse's hide is sweat from a light workout pulling the beer wagon for all us gawking airshow visitors.
Didn't crop this shot much...the side of the truck looked to good :-)
Again, thanks for checking out this posting. Bill

Wow, that would hurt if he stepped on you! Great capture, I know they're much more impressive in person, but this is awfully good too!
A prize winner if ever I saw one ! great shot, great horse!
ooh, clydesdales are just such magnificent beasts! I got to see the budweiser ones up close few years back. You can't help it but be in awe of them. Wonderful picture! I never saw under the hoof or knew about the shock absorbers! Thanks for sharing!
Great capture, Bill ! Very well done !!! I hope the horseshoe brings you luck!:)5*
great shot...those big ones normally are very peaceful and hard workers...and if they happen to stand on your foot, they wont do it deliberately, but it sure hurts as hell...lol
A magnificent creature and a beautiful capture, Bill. Splendid work. Hugs. Di. xx

I love these BIG horses & this one is a beauty! Great capture!
Nickname of the Clydesdale..." Gently Giant "! Thanks for these pics... Iv'e seen them 25 years ago in Tampa Fla. I'm from Belgium. They are very impressive.
That is one HUGE foot...and one you especially don't want landing on yours, LOL. And boy, when they walk the earth does shudder, not to mention when they get that eight horse hitch going!
