I'd put money down on this game, but I'm guessing you're a shark ;-) I like the overall feel - could be used for an advert for an upcoming competition. I realize this would take away from the mystique of the shot, but I kinda want to see an out of focus crowded bar behind/on the far side of the table.

Great job! Because I played lots of pool in my days, I had a feeling the cue stick was too small for the ball. I checked out some references and indeed it seems to be. See here, for example: http://images.inmagine.com/img/corbis/crb162/crb162024.jpg I also think the white ball is a little bit too reflective. Anyway, these are tiny details on a super job that I wish I could do one day!

nice and i love pool. i render my stuff from c4d in vue, always :P This reminds me of faking radiosity effects with stuff like reflectivity and luminosity.

Excellent image, great render and great materials, however unless its just my monitor the white ball doesn't look completely round, it looks like it has been squashed a little, but still the image is pleasing to view :) Jon

great concept but i will agree the cue is too reflective(i can see the reflection of another ball) also the cue looks as it is behind the cue ball so it looks smaller? if it's even with the cue ball the then i'd agree the cue is to small. love the chalk on the cue. great render! everyone was throwing their 2 cents in so i thought i'd donate too
