Description
This is the same beach where I took the gull fotos from yesterday***. In fact, this is exactly opposite; these are the bluffs that line the beach to the south. The top foto looks north, gives you an idea of how huge they are; the bottom one shows how they are constantly moving. That little puff you see--it's the sand and dirt and it's ALWAYS moving. I got right under the bluff, wanted to take a foto upwards. But there's this noise, this strange sound and you realize that it's the bluff itself, as those rocks, the sand, the pieces of it just keep falling. Last winter that huge pile wasn't there, the huge winter storms washed it away with every wave. I wouldn't even walk there, between the waves and the fact that HUGE chunks kept falling off, it was NOT a good place to be. Mother Nature keeps us on our toes, doesn't she???

wow!
Fantastic strata captures, Marilyn. One can only imagine eons ago when these were really on the move being pushed skyward.
WOW beautiful beach! Great fotos!
super colored cliffs
Fantastic collage... superb captures with beautifull textures and colors Marilyn!
Amazing!
Could the source of the movement possibly be continuous inperceptible earthquakes? Really like the top shot blended brown bluff contrasted against the blue sky, Marilyn. The bottom photo is no piker either with the sharp, craggy and striated features dominating the scene. Great stuff, young lady!
My biggest fear - I do mean fear - along the upper coastline is in the areas visited by rouge waves. I have been drawn to the beaches and rocky waterline there before and dashed away only split seconds before a wave came crashing down sucking everything in sight back out with it. This has to be awesome to visit. I have never been to a place where the crumbling is constant. Stellar shots, both.
this is super. got to watch out
Wonderful captures...wise move NOT to get under that crumbling hill face, you need to draw the line somewhere! Maybe you should take daily shots and catalog the changes?
What a POV !!! Very well done !!!!
