Description
A few minutes after I took the previous picture, while flying at an altitude of 34,000-ft., the landscape changed yet again. The ice of the glaciers appears to be flowing from the inland (upper part of picture) toward the coast.
This picture was taken on 3 October 1991 and later scanned.

Wonderful shot. I hope these glaciers will still be here in the coming years. This has such power even though it looks frozen in time, JDoc

Excellent capture Junge.
Great capture!!!
Beautiful capture Sig!
fantastic!
Striking view of Greenland glaciers and Mother Nature's power! All that flight time in the AF brought you over some beautiful landscapes. A Smithsonian scientist explained it this way to me: We have been in a warming stage since the last ice age ended. Man has sped up the process since the Industrial Revolution began in the 18th Century AD by adding carbon dioxide and other exhaust gasses into the atmosphere. The process will slow down if we stop emitting the gasses into the atmosphere, but only Mother Nature can turn it all around with a new ice age! I think we better be working on new spaceships.
