Description

This is my sweet granddaughter Kira Rayne who will be 2 years old on August 5th. Kira is the daughter of my daughter Michelle and her husband Chris. Kira spent the night at a friend's house last night and the bruises and swelling you see on that precious little face are the result of a dresser falling on her this morning. The same hospital that told me that my heart was in great condition and I was free of heart disease, told Michelle today that Kira had a skull fracture and they transported her 35 miles away to Dayton Children's Medical Center....and after many, many tears we were told by this hospital that there was no skull fracture, not even any broken bones, thank God! Kira is home and taking ibuprofin for children and must be waken every 2 hours tonight. After the first 24 hours she is out of danger. The doctors say her eyes may swell shut and her cheeks and jaw may become black from the bruising once the swelling goes down. Kira was very lucky, it could have been a lot worse.......please parents, grandparents and babysitters, make sure that all your furniture and heavy objects are secure so that accidents such as this won't happen...let's protect our children...they are our future... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ God Bless and Blessed Be!

I am almost crying as I saw this image of this adorable little girl hurt so bad and after reading your story I thank God she was not hurt worse than this. The hospitals are pathetic anymore, they are the same people who diagnosed my sister wrong and told us there was nothing they could do. Kira and you will be in my prayers Marlene

Oh my goodness the poorlittle thing she looks sore alright wow one good thing children heal a lot quicker than we do and she is still at the age where she will not remember it poor lil gal: You sure have had you troubles lately my dear take care and your all in my prayers.being a peds nurse of 30 years do I know all to well that 90% of accidents do happen at home,and the thing is children are fast like a bullet "faster" hugs and prayers go your way::

Oh my...this could have been much worse for her and everyone else. Glad everything will be OK. Hope you are feeling much better, as well. She is so precious in this photo...like a little angel.

Poor little love, so glad to hear that she is all right. It is frightening when something happens like this. You think you have everything covered and the a whammy happens. She is precious.

É triste estes acidentes com crianças, espero que sua neta tenha uma boa recuperação minha amiga. It is sad these accidents with children, I hope his/her granddaughter has a good recovery my friend.

Bless her heart She looks so sore and it looks so painful... Thank heaven there are no broken bones and glad she is just taking iuboprofen She will bounce back in a hurry..when I was little my mom and dad kept everything way up high and tied up.......Guess they knew I was a sneaky lil thing and a climber to boot Hope she does well..... Hi Marcy. I'm very glad the accident wasn't worse. I assume she was trying to climb a dresser drawers and pulled it on top of herself. I never had kids but am sure it would be almost impossible to not want to keep them in a rubber cage until they are old enough (say 25 years..lol). I broke a collar bone at her age rocking in my high-chair and fell over into a camp fire. Grandma was running around the camp with me.. a flaming baby.. totally freaked out. I'm fine now but I refuse to sit in a high-chair anymore. Anyway, hope your feeling better and little Kira recovers fast and completely. Hugs and Kisses from Dave :^)
