Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. This was a good day for Spiders going about the business of being spiders, lol. This image was taken with a few minutes and within a few feet of yesterday's posting. It is the same species of spider (Green Lynx) and approximately the same size but a different specimen and a different prey. This individual managed to capture a Blue Mud Dauber. Regarding the number of comments about how big this spider is --- HE ISN'T, lol. The Dragonfly prey shown in yesterday's post was a member of the smallest Dragonfly species I am aware of. They are less than 1" (24mm) long - as is this Dauber. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

I am fascinated by the way a small spider can take on such a dangerous prey and win. The detail in this really brings this shot home. Stellar.

Just like yesterdays post, this is another spectacular view of the micro life that is happening around us. Excellent sharpness and composition and colours. Superb shot!
