Description
Another waterfall from last weekend at Mt Rainier National Park. This is Upper Christine Falls, a must-see stop on the road up the mountain. I posted a shot of this falls two years ago from my last trip there, but you can see that there is much more water flowing now.
I thought that B&W fit this one well. I hope you agree. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Well, I like it in B&W Leaves more to the imagination. Very nice shot. Aloha
wonderful ! and I agree.. the b-w-choice is perfect in this photo
Wow, the first thing I see is a profile of an man's head? can you see it?? on the right? which gives me the sense of a powerful, peaceful place! Excellent shot Dennis!!!
Wonderful shot. Awesome rocks and beautiful falls. B&W was a good choice though I would also like to see the rocks in their natural colors.
Excellent shot!
I see myself the profile of a man on the right ... has the eye closed! Beautiful shot! :)
I checked your 2yrs old shot. Honestly a b&w suite for this wonderful place so well. Amazing rush of water.
I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing human and animal faces in those rock formations; if that means I'm crazy I've got some good company here. B&W is just right on this wonderful cataract.
Fantastic work.
A wonderful capture, Dennis. The black and white is superb. Have a great week. Diane.
beautiful!
Lovely! The B/W really emphasizes the textures and patterns :)
The b/w really looks nice here, lovely capture of a beautiful waterfall, Dennis.
Wonderful B/W of this falls. Yes, I see what Nongo saw---the man's head on the right.
I see the face! (Thanks to Akemi) It really does change the mood of this picture. I love your choice of b&w for this. It's a natural! There's so little color anyway, and b&w increases the drama. Gorgeous work, my friend!
I'm not a fan of b/w but when I compared the two pictures I have to admit that the b/w really does suit this better. I've surprised myself that I would think that. I would not have seen the face except for Akemi's comment and that really adds to the beauty of the picture. He looks like the Guardian of the Falls. And I see a big lion's head right below him.
Splendid B§W!
The B&W really adds to the ruggedness of the rocks. A wonderful capture of the falls.
Wow! Awesome perspective and shot, Dennis! Love those rocks!
Great shot Dennis, I can see the face it looks to me like a batman mask over the face??? anyway I love this as a B/W photo!!
Superb shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful capture ... I love the way the water flows down through and over the rocks ... I can see the face also and he looks peaceful with his eyes closed enjoying the sound of the water falling ...
Wow! Besides being a beautiful shot, there are several face on the rocks right of the falls. Excellent... Aloha
Gorgeous image! ROBY ;O)
Incredible image and yes the monochromatic is very effective!
Excellent shot! I didn't get that far up Mt. Ranier when I was there in the spring... now I wish I did go further!
You are brave to choose B&W in the face of critics wanting color but I think its very successful firstly because it is an unexpected angle on "conventional wisdom" and secondly it lends a striking mood. The most intimidating is the sheer roughness of the rock coming to the fore.
Absolutely wonderful in black and white. I love it. Quite a difference from the previous post.
