Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
In keeping with this weeks theme, here are a couple of images that show very small and/or young insects. These show both, lol
I found the eggs on the bottom of a Poke Weed leaf and brought them inside. I had no idea what kind of a bug had laid them. Some of the great folks at (BugGuide.com) informed me that they were laid by one of the Leaf-footed Bug species (of which there are many).
They hatched about 4 days later and did indeed resemble the nymphs of a Leaf-footed Bug, lol. Not knowing what to feed them, I released them shortly after getting a few shots.
BTW - for those interested. I have made some basic decisions about my upcoming photo exhibition. I know how many pics and what sizes I will need. I found some good prices on-line for pre-cut matting materials and I will do the mounting. The Art's Council found a printer that will give me a very good break on printing costs. Now I am hoping to find a frame shop that will loan some frames for the exhibition in exchange for free publicity thru the Art's Council promotional material as well as their regular season brochures. There is also the chance some of the frames will sale with the images. I have a preliminary list of proposed images but not all will be usable because of bad ratio sizes differences between some of the images and the standard size mats I ordered. I will try to put together some sort of collage showing what I intend to include. But be patient with me, I got fields to mow, prints to work on, images to mount, and I am not the fastest worker on the crew, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

You inspired me. I am working with our building management to put an exhibit together of building digital artists and targeting March or April. I am hoping interested artists in our 25 story highrise will get some good ideas for a real gallery showing in one of our many downtown galleries. I'll be turning to you for ideas when I get the final ok on it. You are beginning to be my silent mentor. :-) Flannelman will be interested in this shot. He had a shot of tons of these guys and didn't know what they were.
You sound busy, busy, busy! Once again great photos. I find these little things very hard to get in focus!
Wunderbare Fotos!!! … like always I am inspired by your insect photographs! This tiny Tierchen is outstanding to see - particularly in “full-sized”! I do not understand, why no the “window completely opens” around the details to see…
Very good pics. You must really have a calm hand. Greets.
Great capture...
Truly stunning quality, Lee! Great to hear about the progress of your project, lets hope it leads to proper recognition of your incredible skills!
Great shots Lee. I'm really enjoying this weeks "theme" of it's a small world. Best of luck on the exhibition too!
That's a great shot, the eggs are quite pretty actually, and good detail on the newly hatched. Good luck on all the plans for the exhibition, will be a busy time for you.
I know I go on Lee, but once again I urge you to get in touch with Nikon, tell them what is happening and which camera you are using, tell them they might get some publicity out of it, assuming you are going to tell what camera you use at the exhibition. I will be patient and await your collage with eagerness, it's just that I am as excited as you are and I hope this really takes off and you get some recognision, it is no more than you deserve imho. The egs in this shot look like minature barrels, all in a line like that, the hatchlings with their massive antenna look like they have eight legs, instead of the six they do have. I will have to look this one up, I cannot remember if you have posted an adult in the past. Superb work on both images. Bravo!!!!!
great fotos and good luck with your upcoming expo.
Fantastic! So tiny and beautiful. Bunny
I get alot of these and never put the eggs together with the bug (this is a true bug). Thanx for the comparison. Oh yeah, all the best on ur upcomming show. ;-)
WOODERFUL SHOT
