Description
Some day I'll get bored with the way light interacts with glass.
Ha!
Okay - maybe not quite yet.
Look at this in full view, and notice how the light picks out the raised letters on the jars, how it forms streaks and curves, how it fairly dances! Without light, there would be no photography. Light is the most basic tool we have as artists. Light not only illuminates, it's also what defines shape.
... and you thought they were just jars. I bet you didn't know they were a soapbox, too! LOL!
..........
These jars were ALL full of home-canned green beans at one time, and I ate 'em all myself. Yum yum!

They look so CLEAN! I guess you don't need my canine pre-clean cycle... wonderful capture of the interaction of the light on all these glass surfaces!
they dont look like plain old jars here, wonderful lighting, great shot
Well, you might, I guess, but I don't think anyone else will, not with wonderful images like this! The various shines, the reflections and the details are all gorgeous! You certainly have a knack of making the ordinary into something magical!
Hi Tara May what a cool idea love the reflections but not the green beans lol wonderful capture sweet smile weekend to you warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
LOL, I have dozens of these and NEVER would have I thought to do this~~truly a beautiful foto, and yeah~~~ LIGHT rocks!!!
Love those old mason jars. Home cookin' and wonderful light opportunities, and you took full advantage of it. Excellent.
Like Chandeliers..... Aloha
You've been in my pantry! :-) I'll bring mine and you bring yours and we'll have a jelly-making-fest! Fantastic shot of these wonderful jars.
...tolle Aufnahme von den Gläsern. Kommt da Marmelade rein?
It's wonderful how you turn the mundane in to the magical! I think I gave away all our Kilner jars!
nice idea
Yes PJ is right. A fantastic shot indeed. YUMMM Beans :)
Interesting photo!!! :)
Very nice work. You present these images so well!
Great idea and stunning image Tara!!! Now you can get cooking and fill these jars with delicious homemade jams and then take another image!!! lol......
awesome reflections!
Awesome shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great idea
I just have to agree with both PJ and Carin, these jars are not made for boring beans, but for Strawberry and Raspberry jam, jelly to you, maybe some Blackcurrant and Plum or even Marmalade(Paddington Bear would come). They are made to be filled with orange and red and purple(just look at the colours reflected here) not boring green beans. Roflmao. Can you tell I don't eat green beans? A spectacular image Tara, and without light there would be no photography, for it is refracted light that we capture. And you have done that quite magically here I might add. I also like the colour of the shelf/table/ worktop that they are standing on, the reflection of this in the glass jars is quite tantalising. It's quite amazing really how a few glass jars can set off a merry-go-round of differing thoughts from people around the world. Sterling work young lady, keep it up. Bravo!!!!!
very original capture, nice lighting.
Very nice....maybe I should try taking some picture of the old blue canning jars I have around the house...nice shot.
Splendid and very cool work! 5
Interesting photo giving your camera a great challenge to focus. It has done very well!
Well I think I have a few of these around, cause gone are the days of standing over a hot bath in the middle of August making dill pickles wondering what the heck I was doing lol. Love the sparkly shine coming off of these empties.
Excellent portrayal of the mainstay of most, if not all, home canning efforts: the Kerr jar, without which I would have never enjoyed my mother's peaches, pears and pickles. Terrific myriad of relections in this shot, Tara.
did you work out that jeff does`nt like green beans and has a sweet tooth like me lol :o)..looking at the obvious and making it into something interesting has become a knack of yours tara .excellent capture :o) mick
