Description
This Buddhist temple is on Batam Island, Riau Archipelago, Indonesia. People are worshipping in the open courtyard and the temperature is in the low 90s. This island is close to Singapore and I went there on a day trip.
This picture was taken in January 1996 and later scanned.

Accuracy is important in Singapore. I had a friend from Indonesia in 1969. He was more involved in bauxite than in bronze.

So glad you like Alans avatar Sig, he went like that because I wouldn't feed him. LOL. I love anything to do with dragons, so the inclusion of these two at the top of the image pleased me, but I also find looking at different cultures interesting as well, it is always nice to see both sides of the coin I think. If I do watch TV(which is seldom) I do take particular interest in documentaries about other countries and their traditions. I think you are never too old to learn and on RR I learn something new every day. I have never seen inside a Buddhist Temple other than in a film with actors, so thanks for taking me inside one today Sig. A very interesting image, excellent work. Bravo!!!!!
