It has almost become a ritual for me to get a pic of this species each June. That is when they always congregate on one species of plant and work to insure the continuation of the species.
They are Clay-colored Beetles and they spend a lot of time at work, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

I am so terribly embarrassed by this lewd image lol. I hope you gave them a bucket of cold water hehe
...hahahah! Es schaut aus aus, als ob der Käfer-Mann die Augen verdrehen würde. Super-tolle Aufnahme!!!!!!!!
LOL! Awesome. :-)
Lol, great fun capture Lee.
Fantastic capture. My dad told me about these "love bugs". No shame at all.....Aloha Great macro.
LOVEly photograph :-) Excellent colours and composition!
I just roared with laughter when I saw this! The light in the eye makes the male look like a Walt Disney character, so very funny. Marvellous, Lee!
Fantastic shot.
Mama mia! triple X, LOL
Great photo I guess!
On the thumbnail they looked like painted cartoon characters!!! lol... love is indeed in the air!!! :)
Love is everywhere ! ;-) You could get a more interesting point of view if it is possible to get lower with your camera (and a tripod should help too).
I THINK THEY NEED A MOMEMT ALONE NICE SHOT
LOL!! OMG !! awesome capture!!!!!
Please, in all your bug wisdom, can you explane to me why HE has the surprised look on his face? LOL Great shot.
Is this what they call 'Doing the Shuttle Bug'? Lol. It reminds me of one that I uploaded last year about this time Lee, a couple of Lily beetles perpetuating the species. This does look like a couple from the Ugly Bug Ball though, did they go to make up before the shoot? Superb capture and presentation as well as a good laugh. Bravo!!!!!
LOL... when I saw the thumb, I thought first of a photo manip, but this looks real enough. Had no idea bugs liked it doggie style. :-)
Too funny! - Congrats on a wonderful image!
Get a Room! ;o) Excellent capture! Bunny
A excellent study!

A very timely capture Lee and although I am blushing somewhat (yeah right! LOL!) I can't stop looking at the expression in his face! And how come he gets to sit down on the job?? Typical!! LOL! A great capture with fantastic details. Hugs xx
