Description
The Starship Seeds are devices that are simply planted in a suitable planet or planetoid. They unfold into a factory, digests planetary material and build more systems, forming a fractal mass. Eventually a whole planetoid is converted into useful material (and some waste dust) and grows into the desired structure. During the early phases of growth the sprouting seed can be programmed, allowing customisation of the product.

Renderd in Bryce 4 woth some minor color correction in Photoshop. The "Starship Seed" is modelled in wings 3D and AC3D. The original artwork is in 2480x3543.
