Description
Tears
Sometimes lately
I just find myself
In tears
Feeling overcome
Crying for no special reason
I can be reading a book
And something makes me cry
Or writing these words
And there they are again
These tears
It's not such a bad thing
I know myself well
And sometimes
I just cry
My life is good
I have no reason to cry
No reason to feel sad
But here they come again
So I let them fall
Because I can't stop them
I don't own them
They own me
So if you see me walking
Down the street
With tears
Rolling down my cheeks
Just smile at me
Maybe even laugh at me
Because I'm not really sad
It's just that
These tears
Need to be shed

I wrote this a ways back in one of those moods that strikes every so often. It's a strange feeling, when I find myself doing exactly as I described, crying for no real reason. It's also a release, there is a physical sense of letting go, of getting rid of a lot of extra baggage. And so it goes, and I just let it, and all is well

brilliant thought!
Fantastic words and shot Marilyn!
beautiful thoughts and poem ....
Nice words Marilyn, it is sometimes possible to cry with happiness. Tony :-)
Beautifully written....I for one can identify with those tears...the same thing happens to me from time to time...I'm happy, can even be laughing and all of a sudden, I'm crying for no apparent reason....my family thought maybe I was going through a second change of life, but no, it's happened for too many years....but if you're like me, once those tears spill and it's all over with, you feel better and the happiness and inner peace returns once again.......until that next time.....
May God bless. 5+.
... just speechless...
excellent words and image Marylin.
First the words, for in the end for me it's always the words. They are so simply constructed and weel put. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure that many can relate. Second, what an amazing shot! Although I would love knowing you weren't driving when you did this, I'm kind of fond of having you around!
well i hope you were parked young lady when you took this :o)..well written marilyn and i`m not at all bothered when i tell you some men can feel like this too .excellent mick
wonderful work warm hug, Linda
I think after we live for a while (or QUITE a while!), we just get filled up and need to let some of the pressure off, let things out, let stuff go. Tears of relief, of release, are different than tears of joy or of anger or of sorrow. You've beautifully described something many of us can identify with. Wonderful poetry!
I don't want to sound unmanly but sometimes I can't help myself. I shed a tear or two on occiasion. beautifuly written my friend
real cool story
wwwwwwwwoooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
tears can be very cleansing and purifying..i can identify. i welcome them, embrace all that comes with them, the joy and sorrow. it is good to feel. excellent expression
Honey...its hormones. :-)
Kinda reminds me of the song "These Eyes"! These Eyes are cryin, These eyes have seen a lot of loves, but they're never gonna see another one like I had with you!!! Lovely Sentimants Marilyn!!!
powerfully described in some elegantly simple poetry... a condition i too can identify with - an admission i most reluctantly make, with my masculinity hollering objections at me all the while... ;)
I don't feel that my masculinity is threatened because I shed a tear, although I can't remember when I last did, apart from when my mother died some twenty odd years ago. No I lie, I cried a lot when my best mate died, on Fathers Day three years ago, as I sat with him holding his hand in hospital. Willing him to live but happy that his pain was over. Wonderful prose Marilyn, and something we can all relate to in one way or another, no matter how strong we are, or think we are. Bravo!!!!!
Fantastic writing! and yes!
laughs are a fun way to liven up the situation lol :-)
I agree, our bodies have ways of taking care of itself, all by itself, and this is just one of them. Thanks for sharing.
