Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held images. This is one of several insects that live on and around Passionflower Vines. Several years ago, I had several vines appear out of nowhere on the edge of one of my open meadow like areas. I started putting up climbing trellises and now have at least a dozen scattered over about 500 sq. feet. Each year I look forward to seeing if the same old species reappear and if I can others that I had overlooked previously. Unless you check everything everyday you may stay completely unaware of what is where because, sometimes a species is here and gone in just a few days. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Nice shot - I love beetles - they look sometimes strange and like little aliens. Very good work. Greets Markus

This is a very appealing bug to me! Cute I might even go so far as to say. Nicely clean and simple and your capture really shows him off great!

wunderschöne Macros von diesem Käfer mit dem schwarzen "Schild" auf dem Rücken. Der Käfer war bisher ein Unbekannter für mich! Danke, dass ich den mal sehen darf!
