when i was a kid mom told us to stay out of the muddy creeks, was too young to understand what polio was, so we played in them anyway...ended up with a slight case and needed to have an operation on my right leg to straighten it out...

I'm glad you made a good recovery. Polio was fairly common here when I was young, and some people ended up in iron lungs. Thank goodness those days have virtually gone. I love your gorgeous shell - yes looks like it's been in the creek:-)

Lovely mud sculpture, I favored making mud pies...my best friends Dad had polio and walked with and extreme limp. I'm glad your case was mild, and hopefully not too painful for you.
