Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
About 6 weeks ago (on April 26th), I posted an image of a mature male Common Whitetail and tomorrow I will post an image of a female.
Both sexes of this species prefer to rest flat against a surface more often than on a twig or stem. They are about 1 1/2" long and not overly skittish.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! a gorgeous catch!!!!!!
Super shot. I like how he kind of blends in with the wood.
He is amazing. His color is varied but he retains a dignified appearance and not too flashy. I really love this one. But then, I love all your bugs!
fantastic macro.
Those wings look ghostlike where there is no colour Lee, I can imagine that he blends in well in the woods. Superb detail in the body, in the whole image really, but I find the open section of the back , showing the skeleto muscular workings of the wings. Superb capture. Bravo!!!!!
A stunningly detailed pic!
