Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image.
Yesterday I posted an image of the male of this species. For those interested in determining the sex of Dragonflies, these two images illustrate a sure fire way of doing that.
By looking at the shape of the appendages on the end of a Dragonflies' tail, one can always know. Regardless of wing spots, body colors or anything else, this method will always work on any Dragonfly species.
The Amberwings are the smallest of the Dragonfly species in my area. They are between 3/4" and 1" in length. They perch frequently and they are less skittish than many other species.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.
