Description
Here is another angle of that fallen tree I had posted. I had seen where a large portion of a forest had been burnt down from the lava flow but not all. As for this tree, a skin of cooler lava had coated the tree, then cooling down very quickly and providing a protective lava shield against the further oncoming hot lava. The rest of the tree will not burn from the oncoming lava as that cooler lava skin helps protect it. The tree will remain in tack and standing for a while. The tree will die of course. This one is finally laid to rest. Aloha and thank you for viewing

fantastic capture my friend, seeing the burnt tree and looking at the new growth surrounding it makes it look as natures funeral for an old friend, great work !!
...das muß ja ein gewaltiger Baum gewesen sein, der den Naturkräften zum Opfer gefallen ist. Sehr eindrucksvolle Aufnahme!

I like the pov of this one better. Also, you can see an ohia tree with lehua flowers on it. Beautiful color contrasts. Aloha
The splintering is what amazes me, as if all the moisture were gone from it when it fell and it was very brittle.
Great image xx
