Great capture here at Ramsbottom station. I posted a shot of this very steam-train a few days ago. It was my first upload in the recent East lancs railway WWII series I've been doing. In fact I passed this very spot on Thursday and this American Beauty was in the station. Great stuff!

Great shot!!!! Considering that this is an American locomotive I would be curious as to how she fitted in with the British loading guage limits as even Great Western locomotives had problems coping with platform widths on some northern lines.

This American engine fitted in fine and dandy when I rode on it at the 1940's weekend a couple of weeks back, so I guess she coped pretty well, especially as she didn't hit anything. Both this one and the Fusiler were side by side in this very same station and passed through with no bother at all. Excellent capture, for the 1940's weekend it had a name plate attached, 'The Dambusters Raider'. I have a picture of it at the same Station but taken from the footbridge in my gallery. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
