British Railway's Intercity 125 is waiting at King's Cross Station, London, to depart for Edinburgh, Scotland. This is the first time that I had travelled on a fast train like this. The 125 is the world's fastest DIESEL powered train. I was exited about this trip and was going to varify the speed by checking mile markers against elapsed time, which I usually did on trains between Berlin and Amsterdam. However, this train was travelling so fast that I never saw the mile markers and became dizzy. So I just settled back and clocked the arrival and departure times at the four scheduled intermediate stops and the arrival at Weaverley Station, Edinburgh. Distance ~400 miles.
