Description
Back up on the East canyon rim, looking West. This is Mount Jefferson.
At 10,497 feet (3,199m), Mount Jefferson is the second highest peak in Oregon. It has a topographic prominence of 5,777 feet (1,761m). (That means it sticks up above the surrounding terrain by more than a mile.)
You can learn more about Mount Jefferson here.
With this, we'll leave Lake Billy Chinook and head back into town. One more stop along the way, then back to Jill's for another nap!

I love these solitary white peaks in the Pacific Northwest.... Great capture!
that is something . the land is flat then it falls into a canyon then you see a big mountian lol . wonderful image
Beautiful snow-capped Mount Jefferson sits elegantly and serenely atop the flatlands in this lovely shot, Tara! Trivia factoid: If the heads on Mount Rushmore had bodies, they would be 500 feet tall. Sweet dreams during your nap, my dear!
Excellent capture Tara, I am enjoying your holiday :)...Thanks for the link..On my way!
