Description
You know, posting my vacation photographs on Renderosity is taking a LOT longer than my vacation lasted! LOL!
We got up Saturday morning and drove out to Lake Billy Chinook. It's the weirdest thing - here you are, driving across this perfectly flat terrain, and all of a sudden there's a huge gorge. There's no way to know there's a lake there until you get right on top of it. Flying out, I could see Lake Billy Chinook from the air, and it was totally amazing, having just been there the day before.
This picture was taken from down in the gorge a ways.
So for those of you (like Doug) who like high desert, here's more of it! It was WAY too hot that day. I think it got up to 97F. (But it's a DRY heat!! Yeah - and so is a pizza oven! Yikes!)
Oh yeah - this is a composite of three images. I don't have a fancy program for stitching them together, so I just did my best with the clone stamp and levels and stuff in Photoshop.

That's a beautiful landscape photo-just perfect! I love your tour guiding (LOL) about where you visited too, thank you!
....Ok ....got my popcorn bowl ..... mmmm .. dim the lights - fire up the old projector and let the show begin ..........ahhhhhhhhh --- I see it's a widescreen presentation ...... cool way to start the second portion of the show, Tara ........looks very impressive on the zoom view - nice stitching job ------- in my prehistoric way of judging things - if the photo makes me wish I was actually standing there overlooking the view ...it's a success.........yep! - wish I was there - 97 degrees and all.
Great panorama!
Superb, Tara! I'm really enjoying your holiday!

You did a great job of stitching these Tara, I have CS2 which has the photomerge function, but even that's a bit hit and miss, I'd say you done great, 97F, yowser, small wonder we didn't see a shot of you in that lake lol...Nice one sweetie!
super work
Excellent panorama! I'm enjoying your holiday, too!
Very nice pano!!!
Excellent Tara, I'm working up to trying a panorama picture from some old pictures Larry took of his moms' place.
And you did a brilliant job on it indeed. Such a beautiful panorama. Bravo, Tara!!!
Beautiful sceneic image.
Yes, a dry heat~~makes all the difference (at least with a pizza oven you get pizza!!)!! HAH!! What a wonderful view of this gorge--mother nature sure knows how to throw in a surprise or two when we least expect them. Beautiful foto!!
fantastic work... what a great view
Well done, and a lovely place it is.... I agree, heat isn't my idea of heaven either. Much over 70 and I'm done! Well captured!
Such a beautiful vista and capture, it is superb. Hugs. Diane. xx
excellent format for this beautiful shot !!
I think you used a blind hem when stitching them together Tara, you did a great job. I can just squeeze it in on my 23" wide screen monitor, zoomed that is, and you did a damn good job piecing them together. Superb image and postwork. Bravo!!!!!
I always look at lakes like this and think how dang hot it is to sit on the shore or in a boat there. Ya think because its water it must be cooler but all it is is more humid...just as hot. Not a lot of shade around this lake here worth mentioning. But its still a gorgeous view through this gorge. Great shot.
The photos always last longer than the vacation! Great shot and postwork (I can't tell).
excellent shots and seamless stitching! what a great little lake surrounded by such beautiful scenery. and as for posting lasting longer than the vacation, tell me about it, lol.
beautiful view...
